2022 Sculpture Network: Applications Open
Yorkshire Sculpture International (YSI) are excited to launch the 2022 Sculpture Network to support Yorkshire-based artists working in sculpture in the development of their practice.
The 2022 Sculpture Network is open to all artists living and/or working in Yorkshire who are working in sculpture or who have an ambition to develop their practice in this area.
This first Sculpture Network in 2020 was developed as a result of discussions with artists around structures of support. In 2022, YSI will continue with a focus on caring for artists, taking a holistic approach to how they can support artists in their practice as well as their wellbeing.
The artists involved will be paid a participation fee of £300 to reflect their input, and there is additional funding available to support those individuals who face barriers to participation.
Each of the participating artists will be invited to contribute ideas to developing the content of the network’s programme and be a part of shaping YSI’s professional development for artists. Helping artists to build connections with each other, curators and institutions is an important part of the network, alongside YSI’s continued commitment to developing opportunities for sculpture-based practice in Yorkshire.
The Sculpture Network will be coordinated by the YSI team with input from curators from YSI partner galleries – Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Art Gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The selection panel will be formed of curators from our partner galleries (Henry Moore Institute, Leeds Art Gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and Yorkshire Sculpture Park), artist Tai Shani, and Jane Bhoyroo and Ella Cronk from YSI.
The Network will run for four months from 1 March until 1 July 2022, consisting of eight fortnightly online meet-ups, facilitated by invited lead artists, curators, writers or researchers.
Deadline for applications: 1st February 2022, 10 am
