Overview


As a prolific Independent immersive director producer, Avril has instigated innovative productions and demonstrated panache to handle sensitive subjects with diplomacy; to direct performance of complex situations in immersive environments for audiences worldwide, and to work with commercial and public sector clients across multiple industries, from the charity to private sector. 2 Avril’s pioneering filmmaking is recognised in her award nominations for the film The Last Moments - Best Director award at Underwire Festival, London, 2017, being awarded for The Most Immersive film at BAFTA recognised international festival Encounters 2017, being shown at The Metropolitan Museum, New York and for her film The Empathy Machine : winning an award at BAFTA recognised Aesthetica Film Festival 2018.

Most recently, Avril’s film The Right Choice VR film that she directed for The International Committee of The Red Cross and Google was shown at The World Economic Forum, Davos and won a Lovie Award for Internet Video: 360 Video: International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, 9th Annual Lovie Awards, October 2019. The film also picked up a VR award 2019 nomination for The Best VR film for Social Impact Award. It has been shown at international festivals including Thessaloniki Film Festival 2019, VR for good at AWE Tel Aviv 2019 and Dubai.

Avril is a fearless, critically acclaimed, award winning Virtual Reality, 360 and film producer, director and creative director. Having worked within the advertising industry for just under 10 years, first as EA to Lord Maurice Saatchi at M&C Saatchi then moving into Account Management before becoming a Creative, working at Ad agencies Fallon and Wieden+Kennedy.
