Current role: Project Manager: Backstage Innovation Hub, Wakefield Council Economic Growth and Skills

The Backstage Innovation Centre is a partnership between Backstage Academy in South Kirkby and Wakefield Council, which has secured grant funding from European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Prior to this Clare had a 20 year career in the third sector as CEO of a regional charity managing a broad range of funded projects including ERDF, ESF, Lottery programmes, projects commissioned from public bodies and nurturing relationships with charitable trusts and foundations.

The purpose of the charity was tackling the issues of social exclusion for a broad range of beneficiaries and the portfolio of assets included an award winning accredited museum, a floating art gallery, a number of historic passenger carrying vessels, a waterside nature trail and an innovative training centre.

Quirky fact: Clare was on an episode of Channel 4s TV Dinners, hosted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall on board a sailing boat in Cornwall.
