Throughout her career Kate has worked with young people with behavioural problems, taught in Adult Education and managed a variety of Community and Health Development Projects for Public Health, Local Authorities, Housing Association, Rural Community Council and the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS).
Kate moved back to Wakefield 15 years ago and joined Wakefield Music Collective as Chair and Event Organiser to put on free Live Music events for the communities of Wakefield district. Clarence Park Festival is the longest running free music festival in Yorkshire.
In her free time Kate enjoys gardening and growing things, sewing and making things, baking, visiting art Galleries, museums and places of interest, watching live music & socialising at gigs and concerts and travelling.
Quirky fact: The Dali Lama shook Kate’s hand when he opened the Peace Garden in the grounds of the Imperial War Museum.
