LIVING IN LOCKDOWN
Three performing arts short films were created by external artists working with CAPA College students during lockdown
33 students aged 16 -19 had 36 hours of masterclass content to help creatively chronicle their personal experience of ‘Living in Lockdown’ and to provide a unique insight into the impact of the pandemic, from a young person’s perspective.
Students received tutorship from Jonny Dixon, choreographic direction from professional choreographer and Sadler’s Wells Associate, John-William Watson. Drama students received online scriptwriting masterclasses and direction from Theatre Director, Joseph Hancock.
All 3 films were shown online as part of CAPA College's inaugural Digital Arts Summer Festival in August 2020, and ‘The Bored Room’ was streamed as part of U.Dance Digital 2020 by One Dance UK & on Momentum’s IGTV. Total film views online during the festivals was 1,308.
Film: The Bored Room
A surreal, comedic, and appropriately absurd exploration of boredom. We asked ourselves what does boredom look like, what is boredom in an image, how does boredom move but most importantly, how does boredom feel? Pretty boring is what we discovered!
