10 mentees will be working with a range of industry experts from leading digital organisations, focusing on business planning and operations, managing creative teams, pitching to clients, diversifying income and monetising IP.

Who is it for?

Applicants for this cohort may be businesses or individuals already working in digital communications who are looking to build on their skills, grow their client base, start a new business or scale their existing operation.

What will it deliver?

The support delivered will be tailored to the needs of our digital agency mentees. Advice will include:

  • Business planning
  • Leadership and people management
  • Protecting and monetising IP
  • Pitching for work
  • Harnessing creativity
  • New technologies
  • 1 to 1 sessions with an expert advisor to discuss your individual objectives

What is the format?

Each mentee will receive 10 hours of support from their mentor between November 2020 and March 2021. Whilst we hope to deliver some of the support face to face, current Covid-related restrictions means that the sessions will initially take place remotely. If we are in a position to deliver the mentoring in person, all sessions will take place in Wakefield and adhere to social distancing regulations.

What are the criteria?

We welcome applications from businesses and individuals across Yorkshire however priority will be given to Wakefield based applicants. Applicants at any stage of business growth will be considered; you may be an individual who has been working in industry and is now ready to set up your own studio or an established agency wanting to improve your current operations. Some criteria to consider:

  • Are you based in Wakefield or the wider Yorkshire region?
  • Is your company incorporated and registered at companies house? Or, if you have not yet registered your company, are you planning to do so before March 2021?
