Funded by Go Higher West Yorkshire Uni Connect Programme, we will be joined by two professionals within the creative industry to explore different careers within the sector. There will be time for questions and discussion.

This talk will cover potential progression pathways as well as giving a brief description of a typical ‘day in the life of’. Laura will finish by diving into Art is my Career, a new community interest company set up to provide schools, young people and parents with the knowledge and tools to identify the variety and diversity of roles on offer within the creative industry.
James Neward – Chartered Architectural Technologist
Founder of DesignDwell, a design studio specialising in low carbon architecture and bio-based construction methods. James focuses on community-led projects with a particular focus on community-led housing. James will take us on a tour of what his role entails and how he connects a variety of roles across a number of industries before talking through his academic pathway and identifying skills and characteristics that helped him identify the creative industries as the right path for him, allowing him to get paid for working on the projects he is passionate about.
Go Higher aims to offer a range of opportunities to upskill and build confidence for staff who support young people with their progression.
