This new workshop will help you to make your committee and board meetings enjoyable and productive
Meetings can take up a lot of time and it’s disheartening when they don’t seem to go anywhere, so we want to help you make them more efficient, productive and enjoyable.
Participating in good committee or board meeting is a learned skill. This interactive in-person workshop will help you develop this skill by providing top tips to get the most out of meetings, helping you influence as well as providing context on principles of good governance.
Learning Outcomes
This course is ideal for staff, volunteers, and trustees of Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations who want to build their skills and understanding of committee or board meetings and good governance.
Delivered by Mike Holt, who has a wealth of experience when it comes to committee and board meetings. Mike has a background in Local Government, serving in a number of authorities in the West Midlands and West Yorkshire. For 12 years he ran his own consultancy, with specialisms in business and project development, business planning, and developing links between local government and the VCSE sector.
For over 20 years, Mike has been Chair of Trustees of St George’s Lupset Ltd, which he helped to form and which has grown into an effective, charitable company serving a number of communities in West Wakefield.
Mike was Chair of the Nova Board from 2012 to 2022, helping our charity to develop and often taking on a very active leadership role. So we can personally attest to his understanding of how to have great meetings – which often involves a supply of scones!
