Unlimited and Creative Wakefield present, Sue Austin: Creating the Spectacle!
Sue Austin’s inspirational work sees her negotiating coral banks and shoals of fish in a specially designed underwater wheelchair. Her work has been seen by over 400 million viewers globally – and now comes to Wakefield for one night only for Artwalk.
See a large-scale projection of Sue’s work, originally commissioned by Unlimited for London 2012, in WX (formerly the Market Hall) just before it closes for renovation (due to reopen early 2024). You can also immerse yourself in VR experience or download version of the work to your smart phone to take away.
If you are a disabled artist living or working in Wakefield district, you can chat to Unlimited team members about our new Micro commissions. What would you do with £1000?
Many thanks to Sue Austin and all at Freewheeling for support with sharing this artwork, and to 20:21 Visual Arts Centre for loan of the work. A larger exhibition of Sue’s work is on display at the gallery until 25 February 2023.
