Support Wakefield’s Future Creatives
24/09/2022 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pmFREE
Over the summer holidays, around 200 children across the Wakefield district took part in summer s’cool, a programme of FREE creative learning activity.
Developed by a team at Wakefield Council and funded by the Cultural Development Fund, summer s’cool was established to introduce the District’s youth to creative skills that could inform their future. With the creative sector constantly evolving and rich in opportunity, carefully-crafted summer s’cool learning programmes showed children and young people that careers in the arts or creative economy are within their reach. Our District’s youth were able to enjoy a broad range of sessions and experiences delivered by creative professionals working within the sector.
In celebration of the work that has been produced by the young artists involved, summer s’cool are hosting an exhibition at The Art House from the 17th September – 24th October.*
During the exhibition, you will have the opportunity to get involved by responding to the artwork around you. Dive into learning packs and materials containing creative prompts inspired by the artwork and music produced throughout summer s’cool.
Suitable for all ages.
FREE entry, everyone welcome.
Please refer to The Art House website for accessibility information and up to date opening hours.
*As a mark of respect for the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the exhibition will be closed on Monday 19 September.
