The Polar Bear (Is Dead)

28 October 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Polar Bear (Is Dead)

This performance is part of Creative Responses to Climate Change, an evening of creative sharing and topical conversation.

Have you ever thought about what it means to lose something forever?

Natalie and Daniele have made a silly show full of hope about losing everything, being alone and going to Mars. It’s about all of those things, but essentially, it’s about the climate crisis.

There will also be a fern, a polar bear and a conversation with Natalie’s mum about the end of the world.

They’ve found a way to perform together despite being 908 miles apart by foot, because if this was a film, that wouldn’t stop them.

It’s a show about never wanting to say goodbye.

The Polar Bear (is Dead) is a new international collaboration between theatre-makers Natalie Bellingham (Wakefield, UK) and Daniele Pennati (Milan, Italy), produced by SJ Watkinson (Birmingham, UK). They share a passion for contemporary performance and pies.

The performance will give members the chance to see the piece of work that Natalie Bellingham will be discussing in the panel talk later in the evening, ‘Creativity & Climate Change: A Conversation’.

Creative Responses to Climate Change will run on Thursday 28th October, 4 pm – 8 pm.

The Polar Bear (is Dead) is programmed to start at 4 pm.
