Company Overview

Considered to be one of the UK’s leading commercial advertising photographers whose work has appeared in cinema, magazines, TV, arenas and at events all over world.

After Art College, I worked as a studio assistant until the early 90’s when I opened my own studio. My studio is based out of Redbrick Mill, where I produce, shoot, and edit all my own work. My clients include Michael McIntyre, HRH Prince Charles, O2, Sky, Jaguar Land Rover, Sainsbury’s, Wagamama’s, and various fashion brands.

As a Northern based creative, I have had to diversify my work to remain busy. Ultimately this has given me an unrivalled ability to shoot any subject matter - from buses to sofas, from fashion to food - to a very high standard suitable for any advertising medium.

I started my trade before the advent of digital photography and photoshop, so the need to understand lighting and composition was paramount as there was no opportunity to amend imagery in post-production, which till this day I still try do little of.

Areas of Specialism for Mentoring

My areas of expertise include: Photography (studio, location, fashion & portraiture), Film Production (TV commercials, brand & corporate videos, music videos & post- production)

I have previously been outsourced as a mentor, after running my small workshop
www.prophotoworkshop.co.uk, but also privately to individuals seeking some expertise in the photography and film industry. I have also been employed to take a series of HE courses on studio filming & photography.

“It would be an absolute pleasure to be able to impart some of my knowledge, experience and expertise to anyone seeking advice. Not only would I find it personally rewarding and cathartic, but I would also love to encourage and help anyone wanting to further their creative ability and vision in what is undoubtedly a very challenging environment.”
