I've produced and directed short films with worldwide screening and various awards, as well as working as production crew and running my client-focused business, Zenith Pictures.What steps did you take to get where you are now?Many years of learning the ropes of digital video production and screenwriting, before completing an MA in filmmaking at the Northern Film School, before starting my own business and developing further independent film productions. In 2022-23 I lectured at degree level in film production in Leeds, and since returned to full-time freelancing.What type of creative opportunities are you looking for?While it would be good to narrow down, I am very open about creative work, having produced film from a very artistic perspective, all the way to traditional, fully-crewed narrative production, as well as documentary-style video production. I have a wide variety of skills, interests and learning, so engage with a wide spectrum of creative projects. So, heritage or arts-based documentary, corporate video, art and experimental film, music video, through to factual broadcast and intensive screenwriting and development for cinematic film - these are all things I will be excited to engage with, and in which to support collaborators.Answer as many of the following questions as you like to enhance your profile pageMy dream creative collaboration would be...A really positive engagement with a producer and a cinematographer to develop film that is complex and beautiful. On the other hand, film that is pure art, working with other creatives to explore a purely artistic endeavour through film.What does Wakefield mean to you?Wakefield is home and always has been. It's the place I have always come back to, and it's hugely reassuring for that. There's an honesty to Wakefield that matters to me, and I always found it welcoming and homely. I've been disheartened by some of theMy proudest momentI love my daughters for being who they are. I've had films screened in major festivals and received some significant awards, not to mention performing as a singer in my youth, but all of that is just me. It's difficult to say I'm proud of my girls, because they're their own people, but it's definitely the obvious answer. I'm proud of them for them.An unexpected thing about meIt's only unexpected if you don't know me, but I got married when I was 19, and we are still very much together.
