Artist Residency

Posted in Opportunities

Are you an artist with an interest in working with children and young people? Do you live/work in Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire or NE Lincolnshire? Would you like to be an Artist in Residence at the Ferens Art Gallery in Hull?

As an Artist in Residence, you will have exclusive access to the Ferens Gallery collections and your own studio gallery on site from 1st February 2023 – 21st May 2023.*

The residency space is flexible and can be used to display past work, make new work, deliver talks and workshops. This residency will support the creation of new work by the selected artist, responding to the theme of ‘identity’, which is the focus of a community exhibition programme planned at the Ferens.

The selected artist will work within the space and must be available at least 1 day a week during opening hours to engage with the public, although you are welcome to work in the space each day of the residency if you like!

There will be a fee of £10,000 to cover all activity listed above, transport, materials and equipment.

Apply before midnight on Monday 28 November 2022.

Shortlisted artists will be given £250 each to work up a proposal and to attend a meeting to chat through their ideas with the Ferens team on Tuesday 13 December 2022.

*Dates are up for negotiation.
