With great sadness we are sharing the news that Creative Wakefield Board Member, Mark Finch has passed away.

Steven Michael, Board Chair said:

Mark was a key figure in the development of Creative Wakefield. His passion for the district, the creative sector and community regeneration was evident for all to see. Since taking over as chair of the board, Mark and I discussed how the lived experience of citizens could be enhanced by everything we do. It was Mark’s vision that whether it be major building work or a new bus stop, every project should have a strong creative stamp. His skills, knowledge and vast experience as a planner and Chartered Surveyor added genuine gravitas to his contributions. I know that all board and network members who knew Mark will be shocked and saddened by his sudden and untimely passing. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family and close friends at this time.

Many of you will have worked with Mark over the years. If you would like to share any personal message of condolence please contact us and we will pass it on to his colleagues, friends and family.
