Micro-Commissions for Wakefield-Based Disabled Artists
Posted in Funding
Unlimited wants to find more disabled artists living and working in the Wakefield district, the organisation’s our new home. For 2023, they have partnered with Wakefield Council to support 10 micro commissions of £1000 each. Could they fund you or do you know someone they could fund?
The commissions are open to any artists who identify as disabled, have long-term health conditions or have access needs. This means, for example, you could be D/deaf, neurodivergent, experience mental health issues, be chronically ill, or clinically extremely vulnerable to COVID-19. We use the social model of disability and don’t ask everyone to use the same terminology. You use what’s comfortable for you.
Artists applying to these commissions must live in or regularly work in Wakefield district and can be at any stage in their career. You don’t need to work in any specific artform to apply.
- Application deadline: Wednesday 22 February 2023, 12 noon
- Decisions will be made in early March 2023
- Projects can run anytime from April 2023
- Projects must be finished by August 2023
