Wakefield’s New Museum & Library: Share Your Ideas
Posted in Industry
Wakefield Council are very excited to announce that they are developing a new library and museum in the heart of Wakefield City Centre. The plan is to open in late 2024, and the team need your help to shape the new museum!
The museum will be a place for the whole of the Wakefield district; a place full of local stories and objects. This project is funded by the government’s Levelling Up Fund for Culture and Wakefield Council, and is part of the Wakefield Masterplan.
Share your stories about the district and what makes you proud to live or work here. Get in touch with at museums@wakefield.gov.uk to share what you think should be celebrated in our museum!
News and updates will be posted throughout the process on the Wakefield Museums and Castles Blog.
The team will also be attending the A Grand Day Out Festivals across the district in August. Pay them a visit to hear more about the project and share your stories!
