Westgate Heritage Action Zone virtual exhibition
Posted in Industry
The Upper Westgate Heritage Action Zone is a four year partnership between Historic England and Wakefield Council, collaborating with local businesses to bring buildings back into full use, providing more places to live, work and socialise.
Over the last year Edgeland Arts have been delivering workshops and collecting memories of the high street. This online exhibition is an opportunity for people to find out about the living history of one of the main routes through Wakefield City Centre.
Visit the online gallery and see images created by members of the public. Some of the art works are interactive and if you click on them you can hear peoples recollections of Westgate.
