Vicky Hughes

Illustrator (She/her)

What I do:

I’m a freelance illustrator and specialise in character-filled, playful graphics! I’ve worked with startups, magazines, charities, the third sector, and small businesses.

What steps I took to get where I am now:

I spent 5 years working as a data analyst but packed it all in and went back to uni to study illustration! I’ve also attended all the evening classes, workshops and summer schools and am very proud to be where I am now.

What creative opportunities I'm looking for:

I’m available to work on: branding, marketing, and commercial illustration projects. You can also hire me to live illustrate / graphic record at events.

An unexpected thing about me:

I spent a year living in a campervan. I’m in a house now though…

My proudest moment:

Quitting my sensible job and deciding to become an illustrator!

My dream creative collaboration:

Illustrated branding for a festival.

What does Wakefield mean to me?
Although I live in Leeds I have spent a lot of my life in Wakefield visiting my Grandma, especially in the last few years of her life, so it is very special to me.
