Eddy Jessop

Graphic Designer and Illustrator (He/Him)

What I do:

Hello! I’m Eddy, a freelance graphic designer and illustrator based in Leeds. I specialise in retro rubber-hose inspired cartoons that traverse across a wide range of formats. I’ve been commissioned by companies to design and illustrate branding projects, websites, leaflets, animations and streetwear designs.

What steps I took to get where I am now:

After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Leeds, I started out as a junior graphic designer for a series of creative studios in Leeds.

After moving to London and being promoted to senior graphic designer, I decided it was also time to hone and develop my illustration skills.

I have slowly developed and built a freelance illustration business alongside my graphic design work, gaining clients such as Keep Britain Tidy, KangaROOS, Skinny Dip London and others. I am now a professional illustrator with a range of skills perfect for any design and illustration project.

What creative opportunities I'm looking for:

I’m open to any creative opportunity that comes my way. My areas of expertise include illustration, branding, print design, lettering, editorial design, illustration for packaging, promotional design…

But if a project doesn’t fit into these categories, I would still love to hear about it! I’m happy to hear from potential clients, even just to chat about an idea.

An unexpected thing about me:

I have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do!

My proudest moment:

Becoming a freelance creative and building up my illustration projects

My dream creative collaboration:

I would love to collaborate with more Yorkshire-based brands and companies such as independent shops!

What does Wakefield mean to me?
I was born and raised in Sandal, so Wakefield will always be the place I call home. I spent most of my teenage years in Thornes Park or hanging around the Hepworth!
