Sarah Yaccabe

Clothing Designer and Textile Artist (She/her)

What I do:

I am a designer and tailor providing custom made clothing and textile arts resources for individuals and arts and cultural organisations. I create clothing for individuals for special occasions and bespoke projects for organisations using reclaimed, vintage and ethical materials. Using a variety of techniques including creative mending, tailoring and upcycling.

What steps I took to get where I am now:

It started in childhood, I have always been interested in creating and making art. I studied Fine Art and Textiles at A level and Fashion Design at Leeds University.

My experience involves creating clothing collections for retailer Fair Trader, alternative special occasion wear for individuals and arts and play resources for Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I have facilitated workshops for participatory arts charity Space 2, LEEP 1 and St Augustine’s who all support their local diverse communities.

What creative opportunities I'm looking for:

Sustainable fashion, ethical production and creative arts are key to my values.

I am looking to collaborate and work with organisations and communities interested in exploring clothing, textiles and crafts. This could be through commissions, creation of clothing or arts resources or connecting with their members through creative sewing activity. My work is tailored to the client vision and accessibility needs to build confidence in their identity, style and values. To discuss a project idea or to work with me, please get in touch.
