Lo-Fi Alchemists

What I do:

We co-create to enhance and transform the cultural legacy of our community.

What steps I took to get where I am now:

Together, the Lo-Fi Alchemists commitment to our local community extends beyond their creative practice, they are proud Wakefield Creatives and endeavour to improve and encourage the wider cultural offerings for the Wakefield people, providing a unique creative outlet for participants. They have creatively collaborated over the years for events, projects and exhibitions on many Wakefield Artwalks. They leverage creativity as a powerful tool to promote greater well-being amongst participants. For more than thirty combined years, they have facilitated, trained, designed, written and delivered workshops, courses, creative projects and curated both personal and community exhibitions. They both focus on the intersection of art and mental health in the private and voluntary sector. The Lo-Fi Alchemists have been friends for over 25 years and as colleagues, as staff members at Well Women Centre)

What creative opportunities I'm looking for:

Creative quadrality workshops, projects and courses focussing on the use of equitable & accessible lofi materials.

An unexpected thing about me:

We make art no matter what.

My proudest moment:

Every time we have celebrated and showcased collaborative and community art pieces

My dream creative collaboration:

A city wide collective art project in the Bullring

What does Wakefield mean to me?
We want it to thrive and prosper. We are blessed to collectively make Wakefield what it is in the now.
